About the Project
Southern Wall Systems installed the castle's stone-like exterior insulation finish system using a number of applicator techniques for that extra touch of realism to help make the fantasy come alive.
To achieve the desired 11th-century effect and meet our client’s 21st-century technical specifications, SWS installed Pebbletex CI-DCA material made by BASF Finestone.
Fun facts
- A suburb of Atlanta, the city is named for James Lawrence, commander of the frigate Chesapeake during the War of 1812. He’s the fellow noted for his dying command: “Don’t give up the ship!”
- The horse-mounted, armored knights of Medieval Times shows use real weapons—from battle axes and crossbows to glaive spears and caltrops, multipointed metal spikes thrown down on the ground to slow down foot soldiers and steeds alike.
- The Medieval Times show also features the use of gunpowder, first used (unreliably!) in Europe in the 13th century.
